This is Drag Ropes by Storm Corrosion, which is a collaboration between Opeth’s Mikael Akerfeldt and Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson. I heard about the collaboration a while ago but my anticipation levels weren’t all that high and it kind of disappeared off my radar. But the album, and this song are fantastic. Playfully haunting, beautiful, very dreamy :D
Right now I’m doing con study for exams. Which for me entails learning this song that’s freakin’ tough as balls. I chose it to be a challenge, was lazy, and now I have a week and a half to finish learning it note for note (I’m about a third of the way through). It’s probably too late to pick another song so I’m just gonna have to put my head down and grind ‘till I’ve got it under my fingers.
To be honest, as far as study goes, this is pretty fun. And I’m going to be a better player on the other side. But right now it’s very daunting, and the possibility of failing and looking a little stupid in my performance exam is a bit nerve-wracking.
Sooo… In the spirit of procrastination, I’m gonna have a break and post some videos of some of my favourite video clips/songs :D enjoy/eat-some-food/how’s-your-father where applicable.
A Frustrated Critisism of the Anti-Vegan
Alrightio Tumbleweeds. I’m going to pretend for this relatively short diatribe that I have no understanding of the conditioning inherent in humans. I’m going to pretend that all people have the same level of understanding and awareness of the particular issue that I’m going to discuss. I’m going to pretend these things because I am going to vent, and I’m going to direct my venting at those that I know, for the reasons stated above, don’t deserve it. (This is the disclaimer which makes me seem like a nice person, so that I can proceed to be an asshole ;D)
In short, this is an open criticism of the collective non-vegan/vegetarian, or more specifically, (because I am of the opinion that one can still buy animal products and still oppose factory farming and support organisations such as Animals Australia) the Anti-vegan.
